Time to update this fcuking blog.

Alright, due to poor command of english and shits i should summarise what the 'eff' i have done for 2010.

Happy stuffs:

1. Whoresome grade for my FYP
2. Graduated from SP
3. Went for a short trip with a groups of awesome poly friends
4. ENLISTED TO SINGAPORE ARMED FORCES! I AM HAPPY BECAUSE I HAVE FOUND MY 'KILO NOVEMBER NOVEMBER CHARLIE CHARLIE BRAVO' PURPOSE FOR THIS HOLY 2 YEARS AFTER GOING THROUGH SOME STUFFS/LESSONS :)

Emo stuffs:

1. Rejected from NTU! &@#$%^ wasted my bloody S$10 :(
2. cannot pass SBJ! stopping me to obtain my ippt silver!

accomplishment? mostly done in army!

1. walked home from city hall to cck. ~30+km? (before enlistment)
2. survived BMT
3. completed GAIT aka Guardsmen Advanced Infantry Training
4. passed 12km fast-march with FBO withing timing.
5. completed 2km coastal swim
6. HELICOPTER RAPPELLING!!!
7. GUARDS ASSAULT COURSE!!!

Resolution?

1. complete my LSCC and earn my Guards tab and Khaki beret!!
2. learn as much things as possible in NS
3. save as much money as possible
4. eat less, exercise more so can can at least a silver for my ippt.
5. marksmanship for my ATP reshoot.

24km was great! better than marching in tekong highway! however, it was still tough and tiring because of the load i was carrying and the accumulated fatigue from the past few days. all i hope for now is that i will get a good posting for my next phase of training!

Giving up is not an option, it's just an excuse. Tough times don't last but tough men do.

it has been a long time since i blog here. right now i will blog about my fieldcamp which ended last week. i decided to blog on this because this fieldcamp made me think and learn alot and also a very memorable one.

Day 1:

It was a tuesday, right after national day. In the morning, we finalised our equipments needed for this outfield trip, my fieldpack weight was abt 25-30kg due to additional 48 hours of combat rations and accessories packs. it was terribly heavy. after that, we had our lunch which was a pack of green combat ration, the food was tomato pasta. the taste was fantastic seriously. after our lunch, we started our 8km route march to our campsite at around 12.30pm. this route march was the toughest march for most of us, the path was rocky and there were a lot of steep slopes to climb. during the march, a lot of buddies including me were having difficulties due to the weight of our fieldpack. there were times where i saw people stopped and vomitted their lunch out. at thast point of time, i also feel like vomitting but i can't vomit out, the feeling was terrible, especially at the chest area.
We reached our campsite at about 3pm, once we reached the campsite, i immediately put down my fieldpack and sit down. at that moment, i thought that i am going to faint anytime because i can hardly breathe and hardly open my eyes. i kept spamming water until my whole body cooled down. there were people fainted, whole body cramp, over-exhasution, heatstroke. most of us were feeling very terrible at that time. officers and commanders came and helped to evacuate the causatlies out. We sat down and rested for about 40mins before we started to have our next activity. The remaining time was learning how to dig a shellscrape and also some basic field discipline we must have. After that, we started digging our shellscrape, sad to say that we got a kinda bad digging position. the ground was hard and it damm fking hard to dig. we took total of 3 days to complete our shellscrape. You can imagine how we slept in the uncompleted shellscrape for the first 2 nights. We had our night training after the bloody digging, it was a complete darkness and we were not allow to use torchlight. We had difficulty moving around the campsite because there were holes everywhere! If we were not careful we will fall into another person shellscrape and injure ourselves.

our only light was the fireflies. although the light maybe not be as strong as any other light source but it helped us in many other ways..

Day 2:

Woke up around 5am. First thing was kena punished because we all were too sloppy and slow. doing crunches and push up with rifle was not easy. after this 'good' session. we carried on with conventional warfare lesson. it was fun but shag because need to run and prone and fire our weapon. after everything, back to digging shellscrape again. under the hot scorching sun, we dig and dig and dig. when i was digging, my mind recalled a song '我吃得起苦'. some of my buddies knew this song and we sang along while digging. our lessons continues again till evening and we had field cooking for dinner which was magggieeee meee. it was heaven compared to combat ration. after dinner we conducted company level powder bathe since we do not have water to bathe we used powder instead to keep ouselves 'clean and hygienic'. we were all white and we went back to sleeeeeeep in the half-completed shellscrape.

Day 3:

had our first 5BX in the jungle. nothing much. after breafast, we had battle course which was a test to test our conventional warfare skill. it was fun once but also shag. did alot of running and crawling. once our platoon finished the course we went back to dig our shellscrape again while other platoon went for the course. finally, we completed digging and we went for paintball. during the game, i can't see shit because of the mask and goggles and i can hardly breathe. zzzz day 3 ended with powder bathe again.....

Day 4:

i would say this is the most memorable one. 0435am if i'm not wrong. we had a turnout. Fantastic, light flash and gunfire lights the darkness. we all woke up and wore our equipment and rush to fall in within the given timeframe. 1 platoon mate fell into a shellscrape and sprained his ankle. at that morning, we were been eff-ed, we pushed and encouraged each other to hang on, i seen people fallout, brokedown, fainted. it was heartbreaking when we can do nothing but seeing them lying on the ground waiting for medic to attend to them. after this session, our commanders and officers gave us a briefing about that morning. we were all shagged out. after all the talking, we had letter from home. Before fieldcamp starts we already knew that there will be letters from home but we all think that ' thats not a big deal, a letter only'. but at that moment, no one thinks that way anymore. before our PC gave out the letters, some of us already had tears in our eyes, including me. initially, i thought that i won't be receiving any letter but to my surprise i got 1 letter from my father. i opened up and read, although its just 5 simple sentences, but it made me brokedown and cry..... some of the lucky 1 received both letter which was their girlfriend. we all cried not because we missed home because we failed them in one way or another. after this session, we all starts our 6km march to next destination for urban training.

the piercing scream that broke the silence of the night...
appreciation, gratitude, brotherhood.

i should stop here for now. will continue for Day 5 and 6.

Leading the fight is... U S Marine Gunnery Sgt. Michael Burghardt, known as 'Iron Mike' or just 'Gunny'. He is on his third tour in Iraq . He had become a legend in the bomb disposal world after winning the Bronze Star for disabling 64 IEDs and destroying 1,548 pieces of ordnance during his second tour.

Then, on September 19, 2005 he got blown up... He had arrived at a chaotic scene after a bomb had killed four US Marines.. He chose not to wear the bulky bomb protection suit. 'You can't react to any sniper fire and you get tunnel-vision,' he explains. So, protected by just a helmet and standard-issue flak jacket, he began what bomb disposal officers term 'the longest walk', stepping gingerly into a 5 foot deep and 8 foot wide crater.

The earth shifted slightly and he saw a Senao base station with a wire leading from it. He cut the wire and used his 7 inch knife to probe the ground. 'I found a piece of red detonating cord between my legs,' he says. 'That's when I knew I was screwed.' Realizing he had been sucked into a trap, Sgt Burghardt, 35, yelled at everyone to stay back. At that moment, an insurgent, probably watching through binoculars, pressed a button on his mobile phone to detonate the secondary device below the sergeant's feet 'A chill went up the back of my neck and then the bomb exploded,' he recalls. 'As I was in the air I remember thinking, 'I don't believe they got me...' I was just ticked off they were able to do it. Then I was lying on the road, not able to feel anything from the waist down.'

His fellow Marines cut off his trousers to see how badly he was hurt. None could believe his legs were still there 'My dad's a Vietnam vet who's paralyzed from the waist down,' says Sgt Burghardt. 'I was lying there thinking I didn't want to be in a wheelchair next to my dad and for him to see me like that... They started to cut away my pants and I felt a real sharp pain and blood trickling down. Then I wiggled my toes and I thought, 'Good, I'm in business.' As a stretcher was brought over, adrenaline and anger kicked in. 'I decided to walk to the helicopter. I wasn't going to let my team-mates see me being carried away on a stretcher.' He stood and gave the insurgents who had blown him up a one-fingered salute. 'I flipped them one.. It was like, 'OK, I lost that round but I'll be back next week.'

Copies of a photograph depicting his defiance, taken by Jeff Bundy for the Omaha World-Herald, adorn the walls of homes across America and that of Col John Gronski, the brigade commander in Ramadi, who has hailed the image as an exemplar of the warrior spirit. Sgt Burghardt's injuries - burns and wounds to his legs and buttocks - kept him off duty for nearly a month and could have earned him a ticket home. But, like his father - who was awarded a Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts for being wounded in action in Vietnam - he stayed in Ramadi to engage in the battle against insurgents who are forever coming up with more ingenious ways of killing Americans.

I had a dream last night. very ridiculous...

I was a SGT of a army platoon, and there was a real war going on. My men and I successfully raided enemy's hiding spots, shooting and killing every enemy in our sight, no mercy (what to do? if i don't shoot them, they will shoot me). Today i just saw a news on yahoo regarding PSLE maths question. WOW!! They posted a sample question so i went to try it out. The question is:

Jim bought some chocolates and gave half of it to Ken. Ken bought some sweets and gave half of it to Jim. Jim ate 12 sweets and Ken ate 18 chocolates. The ratio of Jim’s sweets to chocolates became 1:7 and the ratio of Ken’s sweets to chocolates became 1:4. How many sweets did Ken buy? Answer = 68

below is the solution.

although calculators are allowed in PSLE maths paper 2 but is this type of question suitable for primary 6 or there are other much simpler ways to solve this? LoL I dunno.
